Part 2 - Jesus' Words
from Matthew 23:23
This is part 2 of a 10 part
series titled "The Truth About Tithing". George Greene presents biblical proof demonstrating that
God never required Christians to keep the Old Testament law of tithing.
Jesus' words recorded in Matthew 23:23 are presented and demonstrate
that the scope of these
instructions are not directed to Christians. |

Part 3 - Law Overview
and Free From the Law
This is part 3 of a 10 part
series titled " The Truth About Tithing". George Greene presents biblical proof demonstrating that
God never required Christians to keep the Old Testament law of tithing. He
presents a brief overview of Old Testament law and presents multiple
New Testament scriptures that prove that Christians are free from
the Law including the tithing laws. The downloadable worksheets or
charts are also explained. |

Part 4 - Levitical
Tithes - Crops and Animals
This is part 4 of a 10 part
series titled " The Truth About Tithing". George Greene presents biblical proof demonstrating that
God never required Christians to keep the Old Testament law of tithing. George
presents the first of four different tithes that Old Testament
required for the Jews. The tithe of crops and the tithe of animals
are studied individually. |

Part 5 - Levite's Tithe
and Festival Tithe
This is part 5 of a 10 part series titled "The Truth About Tithing". George Greene presents biblical proof demonstrating that God never required Christians to keep the Old Testament law of tithing. George presents the second and third of four different tithes that Old Testament required for the Jews. The Levite's Tithe of the Tithe was the portion that went to the priests. The Festival Tithe insured that the Jews had supplies for the required celebrations in Jerusalem. |

6 - Poor Tithe and God's Plans for the Poor
This is part 6 of a 10 part
series titled " The Truth About Tithing". George Greene presents biblical proof demonstrating that
God never required Christians to keep the Old Testament law of tithing. George
presents the fourth of four different tithes that Old Testament
required for the Jews. The Poor Tithe was the tithe that went TO
the poor. The poor were never required to tithe! |

Part 7 - Jacob's Promise and Malachi's Reminder
This is part 7 of a 10 part
series titled " The Truth About Tithing". George Greene presents biblical proof demonstrating that
God never required Christians to keep the Old Testament law of tithing. George
notes that Jacob made a vow to pay God a tenth IF he gets
blessed. Certainly not a model for Christians and NOT a
model for those who were required to tithe under the Law.
Concerning the book of Malachi, George shows that the threat of
curses was directed ONLY to the nation of Israel and NOT to
Christians. |

Part 8 - The Truth About
Abram's Tithe - Part A
This is part 8 of a 10 part
series titled " The Truth About Tithing". George Greene presents biblical proof demonstrating that
God never required Christians to keep the Old Testament law of tithing. A
review of the scripture shows that Abram paid a ten per cent
'spoils of war' tithe to Melchizedek just one time. There is
no evidence that it was his normal practice. Besides that,
Abram gave the remaining approximately 90% of the spoils back to
the either the king of Sodom or the people of Sodom. Definitely
NOT an example for Christians to follow. George also corrects the
myth that Abram and 318 men defeated the 4 kings. |

Part 9 - The Truth About
Abram's Tithe-Part B
This is part 9 of a 10 part
series titled " The Truth About Tithing". George Greene presents biblical proof demonstrating that
God never required Christians to keep the Old Testament law of tithing. A
review of the scripture shows that Abram paid a ten per cent
'spoils of war' tithe to Melchizedek just one time. There is

Part 10 - Tithing in Hebrews and Conclusion of Series
This is part 10 of a 10 part
series titled " The Truth About Tithing". George Greene presents biblical proof demonstrating that
God never required Christians to keep the Old Testament law of tithing. George
proves from the Bible that the tithing mentioned was not a command
for Christians but rather a reflection of what was happening at
the time the letter was written. The Hebrew converts to
Christianity were still attempting to keep parts of the Mosaic Law
and the writer of Hebrews was trying to show them that '..Jesus
has become the guarantee of a better covenant'. |

What
Methods Did Jesus Use? - Part 1 of 4
Six common methods of preparing to "preach the gospel" are reviewed. The methods so often in use now are compared to what Jesus and the Apostles did as they started ministering. The term "What Did Jesus Do" is introduced. One of the main goals of this series is to remind believers that "bigger churches or ministries" does not always mean "better" - in God's eyes. This lesson takes a look at 1) The filing of papers with governmental authorities and 2) Modeling of churches after the "most successful" churches or ministries.

What
Methods Did Jesus Use? - Part 2 of 4
Six common methods of preparing to "preach the gospel" are reviewed. The methods so often in use now are compared to what Jesus and the Apostles did as they started ministering. This lesson challenges believers to reconsider some of the statements they must agree with in order to be a 'good' member. The idea that criticism of "God's leaders" can disrupt God's plans is challenged.

What
Methods Did Jesus Use - Part 3 of 4
Common methods of church growth
are challenged. The author also suggests that the need to
control and count membership maybe repeating King David's error of
depending on the numbers instead of depending on God. Jesus'
reaction when he had impact on thousands is compared to the modern
leader who also has impact on many.

What
Methods Did Jesus Use - Part 4 of 4
This lesson takes a look at
what Jesus and the Apostles practiced when it
came to accepting or drawing rich people into their ministry.
Believers are encouraged to tell people about Jesus in contrast to telling
people about your church. Several things that are common in many churches
are listed by the author as things that he maintains 'God is not impressed
with'.

How
to Stop 'Tithing' - Part 1
If you have any problems
practicing your new found belief then you need to view these
lessons. George identifies issues that a person is likely to
encounter when they finally realize that God's plan for their
lives does not include the necessity to 'tithe'. Viewers are
encouraged to take back the authority that they gave up to
religious leaders and become more responsible for how they view
Biblical issues by listening to God for themselves. |

|
How to Stop
'Tithing' - Part 2
The issue of keeping your 'vow'
or promise to pay a Christian organization is reviewed.
Several scriptures are shown to be extremely convincing at trying
to keep a believer from stopping their vow but George puts things
to rest by reminding viewers what Jesus has already said on the
issue. You will no longer be intimidated by religious
leaders and what they preach you should do with your money and
resources. |

How to BE a Blessing -
Part 1 of 5
George starts with the promises
given to Abram in Genesis 12 and begins the process of showing us
that in addition to Gentile believers receiving the "blessing
given to Abraham" that we should also BE a blessing to
other believers and nonbelievers both. The
intended audience are those who have begun to question many of the
teachings that cause a believer to be so concerned with earthly
riches. The lives of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob are reviewed
to see how they were a blessing to others. Some questions are
asked at the beginning which include 1) Does a believer have to be
rich in order to be a blessing to others? and 2) Does a believer
have to have money in order to be a blessing to others? tags:

01/08/09 |
| 126 |
How to BE a Blessing -
Part 2 of 5
The natural and spiritual
descendents of Abraham are both included in the promise to
"... BE a blessing ...". George shows that
the overflow of blessings that comes through believers is not
limited to the things we own that we share with others. A person
can truly be a blessing to others and not even own anything
themselves, that is, not having the George-coined word "blessability".
Other questions to be answered include 3) Is
it necessary to have money in order to spread the gospel? and
4) Can a person who doesn't believe in Jesus Christ be a blessing
to others? Situations are studied throughout the Bible where
blessings occurred with money and valuables and also when money
and valuables were not involved. |

| 127 |
How to BE a Blessing -
Part 3 of 5
This session starts off with
George setting aside many of the various formulas that have been
preached to Christians that supposedly guarantee a blessing from
God. He continues with examples of blessings in the Old Testament
including Psalm 23 "..my cup runneth over...". George
proves that
the overflow of blessings that comes through believers are
supposed to bless everybody around the believer - believers and
unbelievers both. Another question asked in the series is 5) God
communicates to believers but only to draw them to salvation? -
True or False. |
01/22/09 |
| 128 |
How to BE a Blessing -
Part 4 of 5
Attention is focused on the
behavior of Christians in the workplace. George links the
behaviors of the patriarchs as they worked to the guidelines found
in Colossians 3:22. He asserts that there is a direct
connection to the blessings received by the people that were only
near the patriarchs and the workplace blessings that should occur
as Christians work as directed in Colossians. Another question
asked at the beginning was 6) What is the "blessing given to
Abraham"? |
01/29/09 |
| 129 |
How to BE a Blessing -
Part 5 of 5
When considering how money is
to be handled in ministry, George takes note of the fact that
Jesus sent out "12 broke folks" in Mark 6:8. These were
the leaders Jesus was preparing to continue ministering after he
ascended into heaven. George suggests that the Apostles
continued to practice ministry the same way which brings into
question the way church is operated these days. The question
about the "blessing given to Abraham" is resolved
leaving no room for doubters. He concludes by summarizing the 4
different ways believers can BE a blessing. |

Big Lie: God Wants You
to be Rich - Part 1 of 3
"The religious leader
telling you that God wants you to be rich is the one who has plans
for your money" George states. This series is a follows up on
the "how To BE a Blessing" series and once again, but
briefly this time, George notes that true prosperity includes
having God with you, no matter what financial situation you are
in. "Give and it shall be given to you" is reviewed and
George shows that that verse is clearly NOT talking about money or
riches. tags: rich, big lie, rich Christian, rich in every way,

| 131 |
Big Lie: God Wants You
to be Rich - Part 2 of 3
George reviews other scriptures
that he maintains are misinterpreted. Phil 4:19 "..God
will meet all of your needs ..." and 2 Cor 9:11 "You
will made rich in every way... " are both shown as statements
that do not stand on their own but instead must be interpreted in
proper context. A clear pattern is once again reinforced and
that is the need to be generous to those in need. Some Bible
warnings about riches and the desire to get riches are also
visited. |

| 132 |
Big Lie: God Wants You
to be Rich - Part 3 of 3
"Too many poor people have
been talked into giving gifts to rich church leaders",
"Too many poor believers have been robbed of help from other
believers because of the pressure put on them to give to rich
ministries", and "Religious leaders that have been
forcing people to tithe are in effect robbing the poor" are
examples of some of George's assertions. George takes a brief look
at the wisdom of God's plan for helping the poor which contains
principles still applicable even now. At the close, George
suggests that believers need to ask God to forgive our religious
leaders who are responsible for the world's equating wealth with
Christianity. Religious leaders who have done that have been
"...robbed of the truth and think that godliness is a means
to financial gain" 1Tim 6:5. |

The
Problems with Traditional Easter - Part 1of 3
The issue is that the 'sign of the prophet Jonah' that Jesus spoke of is NOT met with the traditional Easter weekend. It does not equate to the 3 days & 3 nights that Jesus prophesied that he would be in the tomb. The
presentation starts with an brief introduction to the history of "Easter" and it's pagan roots. An overview of the Jewish calendar is presented with focus on the week of Passover.

The
Problems with Traditional Easter - Part 2 of 3
George identifies a few days of 'Sacred Assembly' or 'high holy days' that are another form of a Sabbath day. The uniqueness of 'Preparation Day' is also covered in depth. George notes where the gospels agree with some items before the death of Jesus. He also takes note of gospel verses that appear to disagree. |
04/17/09 |
| 135 |
The
Problems with Traditional Easter - Part 3 of 3
George identifies several events that happened on Preparation Day. It is noted that three of the gospels- Matthew, Mark, and Luke - all seem to place Jesus at the Passover meal. A thorough study shows that Jesus was in the grave prior to Passover so therefore
he could NOT have celebrated the Passover. John's gospel has no conflicts and presents us a consistent, verifiable timeline that shows us the 3 days and 3 nights that Jesus spent in the tomb. George notes that it is impossible to reconcile all of the gospel verses the way they have been translated. |

Big
Lie: The Coming Transfer of Wealth - Part 1
George provides detail
to show how scripture is twisted as others attempt to prove that
Christians are about to get a big load of money dropped into their
laps. This get-rich-quick-end-time-transfer-of-wealth scheme by
dishonest religious leaders is their latest attempt to scam
Christians. This lesson reveals the formula used to entice or
threaten Christians into complying with their deception. tags:

Big
Lie: The Coming Transfer of Wealth - Part 2
There are examples of wealth
transfers in the Bible, however, a closer look at the examples
other preachers use is demonstrated to be totally wrong to use as
examples. For example, Abraham was disobedient to God, lied,
and put his wife at risk in in order to save himself. Yes,
he did leave Egypt with a lot of valuable resources but his
actions are certainly not those that Christians should use as
examples for wealth transfer expectations. Both Isaac and Jacob's
wealth transfers are studied in this section. |
10/31/09 |
| 138 |
Big
Lie: The Coming Transfer of Wealth - Part 3
There was a major wealth
transfer when the Moses led the Israelites out of Egypt but this
also is not a model wealth transfer for Christians. There is
another wealth transfer prophesied in Scripture, however it will
NOT be to make Christians rich so they can give the money to
ministries so they in turn can reach the lost. God started with
Jesus without money, Jesus sent out the Apostles on purpose
without money but the greedy preachers want you to believe that
God can't do what he wants without your money! Those who teach
such are liars out to get your money NOW. George visits the book
of Revelations which identifies at least one group that will be
around when the wealth transfer occurs. |

Touch
not mine anointed - What does it mean?
This scripture gets quoted when
some pastors get challenged about lessons they taught or maybe
even questionable things they did. It is used as a
'get-out-of-jail-free-card' when in fact the statement was not a
future insurance policy but instead was King David's reflection on
how God had protected his leaders IN THE PAST. tags: prophet, sin,

Testing
God - Good Idea or Not?
Contrary to popular teaching,
George maintains that testing God or tempting God is not always a good idea. The Malachi scripture is often quoted
but there are other scriptures that point out that we should NOT
test or tempt God. In addition, George shows that the Malachi
scripture is NOT the only time in the Bible where God said to
someone "...test me...". tags: test God, testing God, test me,
prove me, tempt God

Spiritual
Covering Nonsense
Starting with a brief
discussion on the issue of a woman's head covering, George
challenges the standard practice of having a person (mentor,
elder, pastor, bishop, etc) between God and the believer in order
for the believer to understand God's will for his or her life.
George notes the many instances of "one another" in the
New Testament. He also presents Biblical evidence that Jesus
and the Apostles did not demand others to have their
"spiritual covering". tags: spiritual covering, one

His Stripes - A Closer Look Part 1 of 2
The context of 1Pet 2:24
"... ... by his stripes we are healed.", is reviewed to
determine the proper understanding. The review starts at the
beginning of 1 Peter Ch 1 and continues to 1 Peter Ch 3. George
notes that the subject both before and after the verse in question
has to do with submission. This is also true of the OT verse
that 1 Peter 2:24 quotes which is in Isaiah 53. tags: by his
stripes, by his wounds, stripes, wounds, submission, decision |

By
His Stripes - A Closer Look Part 2 of 2
Healings by Jesus are reviewed.
Healing miracles by the Apostles after Jesus' resurrection reveal
that 1) The Apostles performed some healing miracles the same way
as Jesus and 2) Jesus could not and the Apostles did not quote
Isaiah 53 nor 1 Peter 2:24 in advance of healings. It is noted
that the idea of submission is the subject or topic before,
during, and after the verse in question. The healing referred to
in 1 Peter 2:24 is the healing necessary after we have submitted
to the Lord's plan. Our decision to "die to sins and live for
righteousness" requires the healing that only Jesus
provides. |

God's
Plans for the Poor - Part 1 of 2
George encourages Believers to
listen to God for themselves to determine the individual things
they should do to provide effective help for the poor. Old
Testament scriptures that required framers to help the poor are
reviewed. The law that required Jews to cancel debts of
their Jewish brethren in the seventh year is also noted.
George notes that the wisdom of that law that restrained the money
lenders from taking complete advantage of the poor. The poor
in America and may other parts of the world have no such
protection |
3/23/11 |
| 145 |
God's
Plans for the Poor - Part 2 of 2
A review of Jesus' actions
concerning the poor is separated between miracle and non-miracle
incidents. It is clear that the poor are a major focus of
his ministry. George notes that starting immediately after
Pentecost, the Believers demonstrated a correct understanding of
the principles and necessity of helping the poor as demonstrated
by them making sure that "there were no poor people among
them..." (Acts 4:34). Believers are encouraged to stop
looking for some special big special ministry and instead ask God
for themselves what he would like them to do right where they
live. |

How
God Lifts an Offering
The differences between tithes
and offerings are noted. George teaches that the most significant
offering does not have a title nor a law requiring it. New
Testament offerings are reviewed and compared to various methods
currently in use in many churches. We are under compulsion as soon
as we hear various reasons why we need to give which goes against
".. each man should give what he has decided in his heart to
give, not reluctantly or under compulsion .." (2Cor
9:7). It is up to the viewer to determine if many of the
gimmicks in use in many churches really demonstrates the Lord's
will. |

lessons 105 - 114 |

No
More Tithing - Part 1 of 3
George proves that
"tithing" was never required of Christians.
Starting with an overview of the Bible definition of tithing,
George proves that Abram's tithe is NOT the example we are to
follow. Abram gave away "other folks' money" and
didn't keep anything for himself. The Bible definition of
tithing is compared briefly with the popular definition. An
overview of the Old Testament or Mosaic law is started. Of
the approximately 612 laws contained in the first 5 books of the
Bible, George proves that there is no requirement for Believers
just to keep the laws that required the Old Testament Israelites
to pay something. |

No
More Tithing - Part 2 of 3
Many New Testament verses are
quoted that prove that Christians are free from the Mosaic law
that required tithing from certain Israelites. The multiple
tithes are reviewed starting with the tithe from the land and from
herded animals. George proves that the tithe from the land was
only 6 years out of the 7 year cycle. Herders that raised 9
or less animals were NOT required to tithe. Next George reviews
the Levites' 'tithe of the tithe' followed by his review of the
Festival Tithe that required Israelites to travel 3 times a year
and joyfully eat their tithe in the presence of the Lord. |
12/29/11 |
| 149 |
No
More Tithing - Part 3 of 3
The Poor Tithe is reviewed
followed by a look at Jacob's promise or vow. George proves
that Jacob's vow was only a 'fine sounding religious act"
where Jacob the trickster was just trying to impress God.
Little time is spent on Malachi's reminder to the Levite priests
simply because - just like other prophets that have some things
they said recorded in the Bible - George proves that God did not
have the prophet Malachi talking to you and I !! George
reviews the context of Jesus' comment about tithing in the list of
"Woe to you ...." to the Pharisees. The mention of
tithes in Hebrews is reviewed before reminding viewers that we are
free from the law handed down through Moses and we need to forgive
those who taught us that we must tithe. |

Plantations,
Corporations, and Churches
George links American slave
plantations, typical American corporations, and typical
traditional churches. The link is that all three organizations
cause their slaves/employees/members to look to the leadership for
answers. He suggests that the similarity is actually not healthy
for the spiritual life of believers in Jesus Christ and it is
clearly NOT what Christ intended. |

Is Salvation Really
Instant?
Many, many have been taught
that by just saying "the sinner's prayer" that they can
be confident of never having to pay the eternal price for a sinful
life. But is that really that easy? George cites many
New Testament verses that combine to tell a different story.
He suggests that we cannot overlook verses like Phil 2:12
"...continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling,"
|

|
Is Every Verse in the
Bible "Scripture"?
What is
"scripture"? What does it mean to have bible
verses referred to as "scripture"? Where do we search to
get a good understanding of what the word actually means?
The answer is in our Bibles. George points out how the word
is used throughout the Bible. His summation will challenge more
traditional explanations. |
|
|
|
Is the Bible "The
Word of God"?
"Word of God" or
sometimes just the "The Word" are both often intended to
refer to the Bible. But are those terms really accurate? The
Bible clearly tells us that Jesus is the Word but somehow we
constantly refer to the Bible as the Word. A careful study
shows that the Bible itself makes no such claim and is very
consistent in not calling any printed text the "word". |
|
|
"Giving to
God" - What Does it Really Look Like?
Many a preacher has exhorted
their congregations to give a financial gift to God. First
of all, is that even possible? God owns everything so how
can we possibly give him something that he already owns? Is
every gift you put in the collection plate a "gift to
God"? |
